A cookie that is widespread in the south of Italy in numerous variations that differ from each other in flavor, taste and texture, our mustacciolo is round and slightly crushed by hand, and as main flavors we have cocoa, cinnamon, almonds, apricot jam and cloves. Once baked, this soft cookie is glazed with “gileppu,” a very simple glaze of cocoa, water and sugar to which we add dark chocolate so that it thickens and thickens the coating. A dessert at the end of a meal, to be accompanied by a fortified wine … or even it is said that someone dunks it in milk at breakfast.
